Merry Monoline
Holiday Play Day
Join us at Run Rabbit Gilding on December 6th from 1-4:00 PM for a fun and festive play day led by Amy Flanders and Lori Mitchell-McMahon.
Lori and Amy will demonstrate Monoline calligraphy, an extremely versatile hand characterized by uniform stroke width. We'll learn the basics, but we'll also have fun by breaking the rules and making the letters our own.
If you have a holiday project you'd like to add lettering to, feel free to bring it. We'll also have plenty of supplies to make bookmarks, cards, and other festive items to gift the calligraphy-lovers in your life.
Everyone will go home with a gift bag of calligraphy goods. Plus, we'll have a giveaway sponsored by the Guild!

About Our Hosts
Amy Flanders took up calligraphy seriously about 7 years ago after having admired it for years. She is educated as an engineer but has been teaching preschool for about 17 years. Amy has many hobbies and interests… calligraphy, photography, tennis, dog agility training, and traveling. Her favorite calligraphic hand is pointed uncial.
Lori Mitchell McMahon has cultivated a lifelong love of letters and had enrolled in several CGP workshops a few decades ago…but with commitments to a professional life of engineering and physical therapy as well as the raising of five kids, her calligraphy pursuits took a long hiatus. In the last few years, she has enjoyed morphing into a more “contemplative self,” having retired and supporting all of the kids from afar, as they are tracking their own paths. It’s a joy to re-connect with CGP and have the time to re-immerse in calligraphy studies once more. Lori is also an avid collector of fountain pens, owning far too many pens as well as oodles and oodles of fountain pen inks.
