The Aleph book is a two-signature, sewn book with a soft cover. The stitching resembles the aleph or alpha character—appropriate for a calligrapher.
Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and has a long history that can be traced back to the earliest writing in Western Civilization. It is related to the Roman letter A we use to start our alphabet today.

This Play Day will be led by our guild member, Lily Hoy, who is an extraordinary maker of artists books and experienced teacher.
All the supplies and most of the tools will be provided for use during the Play Day. There will be a $10 materials fee. You'll just need to bring basic tools that are already in your toolbox. A supply list will be sent upon registration.
Each participant will go home with a completed (or nearly completed) book and instructions. The book, before the cover is sewn on, is 6" x 4.5". The exact colors of the materials may differ from the example in the photo.
The Play Day is open to all levels.
Space is limited due to the instructor providing personal attention to each participate, as needed.
RSVP and $10 materials fee required for registration.
