Our esteemed long-time  member, Judy Melvin, is opening her studio for a visit by members of the Calligraphy Guild Pittsburgh on Sunday, November 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

About Judy

Judy's calligraphy career has spanned most of her adult life - from writing beautiful wedding envelopes to skillfully hand-lettering traditional calligraphy styles as a student of Sheila Waters. She then took a leap to join American Greetings where she was a lettering artist for more than 16 years.

At American Greetings, she created hundreds if not thousands of hand-written greetings and became masterful at expressive brush lettering. 

Judy has taught at many International Lettering Arts Conferences and at calligraphy guilds across the country. Her work has appeared in many art journals including on the cover of Lettering Arts Review.

She continues to create art using her intuitive, expressive style.

We are fortunate to be welcomed into her home for her to share her many years of calligraphic art.
